Installation

Supported Python Versions: **3.5** and higher.





Via pip
------------
To install byte-api, run this command in your terminal:

.. code-block:: console

    $ pip install byte-api


This is the preferred installation method, as it will always install the latest stable release.
If you do not have `pip`_ installed, this `Python Installation Guide`_ can help with the process.

From source code
-------------------
Source files for byte-api can be downloaded from the `GitHub repository`_.


You can clone the public repository:

.. code-block:: console

    $ git clone git://github.com/byte-api/byte-python


Or download `tarball`_:

.. code-block:: console

    $ curl -OL https://github.com/byte-api/byte-python/tarball/master


Once you get the source files, you can install them with:

.. code-block:: console

    $ python setup.py install
